Join us on Saturday 26th October, for an engaging complimentary talk by Club member and part-time Clifton resident, Denis Forster. A retired New York attorney and Amazon Best Seller, Denis will discuss his captivating book Freedom and Adventure, a true account of his remarkable 1961 solo hitchhiking journey from Wisconsin to Panama.
In Freedom and Adventure, Denis shares his experiences traveling through middle America and down the Pan-American Highway, traversing seven borders through Mexico and Central America. His journey, likely the first of its kind, offers a rare glimpse into the golden years of hitchhiking and life on the road during a bygone era. Illustrated with maps and photos, the book provides historical context and personal reflections, making it both an informative and entertaining read.
Following the talk, enjoy a delightful à la carte brunch prepared by our Head Chef, which can be charged to your account.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Denis recount his extraordinary journey and gain insight into a world that has since disappeared.
